A FRENCH FREELANCE TRANSLATOR, I moved to Bristol, United Kingdom, in 2008. After five years as a teacher of French and classical languages in France, working as a freelance translator was for me both the path of freedom and a way to return to my first love: languages – modern and classical. The source-languages I translate from: English, Russian and Latin. And French, my mother tongue, into which I do most of my translation, proofreading and localisation work.
I BRING TO YOUR PROJECTS the discipline learnt during my years studying classical literature and languages, taking care to research the terminology and context of each translation project you entrust me with. My proofreading jobs are held to the high standards regarding language quality that I applied as a French teacher: I adapt the style to the audience you wish to target and always deliver a carefully reviewed document, free from typos and grammatical errors.
MY PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE and my personal history convinced me of the usefulness of discussion and teamwork. If I have questions about your text, I discuss them with you, in an open and direct way, in order to achieve the best possible quality. And if I can’t help with your project, through my network of translators, I do my best to offer an alternate solution by pointing you to the right person. This is one of the reasons why I joined as an Associate member the British translators’ professional association, the Institute of Translation and Interpreting, and am a member of its French counterpart, the Société Française des Traducteurs. I am also a member of my local translators’ association, the ITI Western Regional Group.
